127 Weight Loss Tips for a Fit & Healthy Body

This is an awesome list for weight loss tips that are not filled with hype. Great for anyone that wants to lose a couple pounds or make a complete life change!

1. Forget the Past and Future. A lot of progress is lost when thinking about all of the times you’ve tried to lose weight and failed, putting off dieting for a later date, or being stymied by all of the things you’ll have to do in the days to come. Focus on the now and get started!.

2. Don’t Sugar Coat Your Current State. Come to terms with how bad you’ve let yourself get, and make a promise never to return to where you’re at. It’s OK to be unhappy about the way you look, as long as you channel that energy into positive changes.

3. Don’t Overeat. This seems like a no-brainer, but it’s one of the hardest habits to break, and one of the most detrimental things you can do to your body.

4. Take on a Weight Loss Challenge. 90 days is the length of most challenges these days, but you can also find 30 and 60 day ones as well. What a challenge does is gets you to go hard out for a finite amount of time, so you can wrap your head around it. Just be sure to have a plan for when the challenge is finished.

5. Don’t Target a Specific Area. Spot treating rarely works, and can be very demotivating. Focus on improving your entire body and you’ll see those troublesome areas get better over time.

6. Don’t Let Giant Food Corporations Weigh You Down. It’s unfortunate the kind of “foods” the big food companies try to sell us. They’re filled with all sorts of additives and chemicals to get us to eat more of it. Take a timeout on pre-packaged fare.

me time

7. Take Mandatory Me Time. If you’re always providing for others you won’t have the time needed to focus on your weight loss and fitness goals. Be sure to schedule some alone time to collect your thoughts.

8. There’s No One Way to Lose Weight. Don’t pigeonhole yourself into thinking that there’s only one way you could possibly get the results you want. There are many roads that lead to the same path, it’s about choosing the one that works best for you.

9. Why Not Live Up to Your Full Potential? Larry Winget says that the human race is the only living thing in the universe that chooses not to live to its fullest potential. The fit and healthy you is possible, so why not go for it!

10. Integrate Your Different Life Spaces. If you find that you’re an angel while at home, and a devil at work when it comes to eating junk, or vice versa, try to connect your different personas so you’re not working against yourself.

I like the idea of home exercise equipment, but some of it gets pretty expensive. What can you recommend under $200 or so?

    • Bembu says:

We recommend staying away from exercise machines if you only want to spend less than $200. Go the free route by doing body weight exercise, buy a good set of dumbbells or kettle bells, or get a high quality set of resistance bands. Also, give Yoga a try. You would be surprised at how much it actually works all your muscles. It may take awhile to get the hang of it at first, but once you get into, it is one of THE best ways to get a full body workout.

I’ve always been skinny since I was a kid, so getting fat was never something that I thought would happen to me. As I got older I started gaining some weight, but I had a false sense of security that I could lose weight fairly easily since I was never a fat person. For people who were blessed with high metabolism, I think that’s the trap. You think you’re bulletproof but you’re not. Anyone can get fat if they take in more calories than they can burn, but we don’t think rationally like that. Well, I woke up recently realizing this and I’m finally doing something to get back to my old shape.

    • Jaslyn says:

Yes have been the same way all my life. Since I started college I’ve put on a little weight and feel horrible about myself. I kept making up excuses why I couldn’t workout or eat healthy. Always thought it would only take a week to get rid of the excess fat. But the weeks passed me by and I didn’t take any action. I’m finally fed up and ready to start the journey on creating a new me.

Don’t overeat, such a simple tip that anyone should be able to follow and yet so many Americans have trouble doing it, including me. I should try to keep things simple and perhaps print out all the tips on this page and just stick them around the house. I should remind myself to eat healthier and to build better habits, so I could start losing weight. I bought several books on how to lose weight, but needless to say I had very little success with them. I think I’ll do that, I’m going to turn my wall into a wall of weight loss tips.

    • Melissa says:

I totally agree with you! Simple is the way to go, and consistency! It shouldn’t be hard and doesn’t have to be!

  4. Mason11 says:

It’s so hard to lose weight when at every corner there’s a fast food restaurant and they taste the way they taste. My dad tells me that he doesn’t understand how the young people today find fast foods tasty. He says they’re not real burgers and that everything’s made to taste a certain way and that the taste doesn’t come from the ingredients. But for me they taste great and I can hardly go a day without gobbling up a burger at a mcdonalds. I compare fast food to cigarette (I smoke too lol) because they really are addictive.

    • Lauren says:

MLouise below is right. The only way to stop enjoying fast food is to cut it out completely so that your body stops craving it. I used to eat nothing but fast food and soda and I looooved the way it tasted. I was on the same boat as you. I thought people who ate salads were out of their ever-loving minds. But then I got to my highest weight ever and I realized that I had to do something. So I started making my own food every single day. It was really tiresome at first because I would make it and not even really want to eat it. Especially salads. I also didn’t have much in the way of cooking skills since I had let all of the fast food joints cook it for me. But slowly I learned. And then I learned what healthy foods I like the most. And then I learned recipes to combine ALL of the healthy foods I loved and I found myself craving all kinds of things that were actually good for me. One of the strangest, even to this day is green leaf lettuce. It actually tastes spicy and rich to me now, though my fast food eating taste buds of ten years ago would have laughed at me for saying that. Berries have flavor now, carrots, beets, alfalfa sprouts. My new snacks are cashews, cucumbers, carrots and sweet red peppers. I eat an apple every day and it gets me through a WHOLE yoga class without getting weak. Now, when I go out to eat at any restaurant I LOOK FORWARD to the salad menu and what kind of tasty lettuce I’m going to shove down my gullet. Don’t be discouraged. Make a salad into a piece of artwork. The beauty of a salad is that it can be a huge meal and still good for you because it is made of whole, healthy foods. Try adding avocados, lentils, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, guinoa, corn, black beans. Make it filling. You don’t have to eat like a rabbit to lose weight. You just have to avoid fast and pre-packaged foods. You can do it, man. I only know that because I did. And if I did, anyone can.

To Mason11, human being are so made that after two to three weeks, they will get into a new habit, if you stick to not eating McDonald and EACH time you want it, you eat the apple you always carry with you, after three weeks, guess what?!!! you will crave the APPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are all weak sometimes so we have to replace bad habits with good ones since humans like habits. Always bring an apple and a few organic carrots with you and when you feel for crap, you crunch it like if that is the last piece of food in the whole world!! the crunch crunch will calm you down, the sugar in organic carrots or apples will calm you down and they will both help your liver to work better, if you think of your liver more, it will inspire you to treat it well, thus, make you stronger to say no to a bad burger (your liver will suffer from it) as you stand up for yourself and also for your liver. last point, organic meat makes very good burger!!!! start to make your own:) you will impress women with your waist, muscles (that they could now see!!) cooking skills, healthy habits! with all of that comes the fact that you will build stronger will and may get promoted since you have all this energy!!! go for it, a small change (carrying an apple to resist your daily McDonalds) and your life could be entirely different in the long run!!

Hey Guys! My name is Judith and I want to share something with all of you. Three months ago I was a little overweight and I wasn’t feel confortable with my body, I had tried some of the diets out there – the low carb diet, the sugar free diet & the cabbage soup diet and none of them worked for me. I had tried going to the gym regularly to exercise but I’m a full-time mother with 2 kids, and I don’t have the energy to workout every day for hours…

But one day doing some searching on Google I came across an article by a nutritionist who said he had tried a program called The 3 Week Diet (http://the3weekdiet.co.nf) and was able to lose 1 lb of body fat a day for 3 weeks by following it.

I could hardly believe it, but I decided to give it a try. By the end of the first week I had lost near 9 lbs of pure body fat, and by the end of it I had lost almost 22 pounds! That was more than I had expected! Friends and family were commenting how much weight I had lost and I had never felt healthier and happier in my entire life.

I want to share with all of you this method that changed my life because I know how hard it’s not being happy with your body. Take a look at it: http://the3weekdiet.co.nf

If this could help only to one of you (I hope that more) I will be happy to having shared it 🙂

    Kisses!

It’s all a mental matter. If you are able to quit the same unhealthy eating routine in order to gain a healthier one, you can lose weight because you know what it is due to. A friend of mine started a weight loss journey, she write on her blog.. Celebrities will never tell you how to lose weight because their treatments are too expensive, for example surgery… Nikole helped me a lot, I met her on a forum when she was struggling.
